Error message on Mac Safari browsers–“Browser failed. Please view in updated google chrome browser”
Cause- This error only appears in Mac Safari browsers when the Fairplay DRM is not configured. Desktop Mac Safari is not the default recommended browser until Fairplay DRM integration is done. (But ios safari is supported)
Fix- Updated Chrome browser has to be used for playback in Mac until Fairplay is integrated.
To enable playback in Mac Safari, Apple Fairplay DRM upgrade has to be configured.

Apple Fairplay DRM upgrade – VdoCipher provides Google Widevine DRM encryption for Desktop and Android as default integration. IOS/iPhone playback currently uses proprietary encryption which is secure from download but can not have a watermark over the player. This is due to limitations on the IOS interface by Apple. It is also not the highest DRM level secure.
There is a security upgrade possible for IOS playback which will play Apple Fairplay DRM in IOS and also block screen capture. But it requires a separate application process to Apple, that is why it is not default integrated. Even if you don’t do it, it is still encrypted but not screen capture blocked.
The Apple Fairplay DRM also allows Desktop Mac safari html5 playback. Thus, Fairplay is good overall for the viewer experience as well.
